Policy change alert!
Nerdstrong Gym has made a commitment to hands-on coaching. We do this by ensuring there is at least one coach for every 10 members in our classes. We firmly believe maintaining this ratio is the best way to make sure we all learn proper form, protect ourselves and work to the best of our abilities. This high ratio of coaches to members also allows us to modify workouts to meet the needs of every individual.
However, in order to do this, we staff each class according to how many people are signed up. Over the past few months, there has been a growing trend of members signing-up but not showing up. This makes it enormously difficult for our team to manage and meet our obligations to our members. Therefore, we ask that members remember to sign up and cancel for classes at least one hour before class time. Frontdesk, which we currently utilize for member registration, is available as a web app (via nerdstrong.frontdeskhq.com) in your smartphone's browser and easy to use from anywhere.
Beginning Nov 1st, 2015 we will begin enforcing a new policy regarding showing up without RSVPing, late cancellation and no show.
1. Not RSVPing: If you arrive to a class without signing up 1hr prior, it will be at the coaches discretion to allow you into class or not. We very much wish to maintain our 1:10 ratio and it would be unfair to members who have taken the time to sign up and then have the coach unable to give proper attention.
2. Late Cancellation / No Show: If you cannot attend class, you must remove yourself 1hr before. Failure to do so will result in a late cancellation/no show. Understandably, life sometimes gets in the way. Our policy allows for three unexcused absences before you will be charged a $15 fee per late cancellation / no show. These fees will be donated to 826LA a Los Angeles based non profit dedicated to supporting students with their creative and expository writing skills.
If you did attend your scheduled class or had an unforeseen circumstance arise, please email Marla immediately at email@example.com so that your account visit history can be updated. If you know in advance that you will not be able to make a scheduled class, but are already within the 1hr late cancel period, it is best to email Marla before the class occurs.
While we will allow exceptions to our policy for sickness or other unforeseen circumstances, we will not allow excessive or continuous excused absences. This exception is not meant to be abused, but instead as a means to not penalize our members who have a legitimate reason as to why they were unable to attend their scheduled class.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we continue to grow this amazing community based on love and respect for each other.
